To provide our families with healthy puppies we do testing on our Sire and Dam prior to breeding.
Here is the testing we do:
Pennhip - Testing for strong bones so we can prevent hip dysplasia.
CAER -Testing for healthy eyes
Neonatal Encephalopathy with Seizures -Puppies can be born with this fatal disease. 7 weeks old is the survival rate. Need to prevent this from happening.
Degenerative Myelopathy- This is a progressive disease of the spinal cord.
Von Willebrand disease - Hereditary + bleeding disorder - can lead to excessive bleeding and even death.
Cardiac testing- To detect heart murmurs.
By doing this testing we are creating the healthiest puppies we can.
Poodles tend to live longer than other large breeds and are highly intelligent. With the proper diet and exercise, poodles can live to be around 14 years old.
